Meridian Speedway
Eve of Destruction 16 is HERE!
Satisfy your appetite for automotive destruction at Meridian Speedway this Saturday, July 27, with Eve of Destruction 16. Before the World-Famous Boat Race of Destruction caps a night of wrecking and racing, the Zamp NASCAR Latemodels, Pepsi Sprintcars, Idaho CDL Training Street Stocks, Idaho Asphalt Services Hornets, Firehouse Pub and Grill Bombers, and the Apex Idaho drifters battle door-to-door for the night’s Idaho CDL Training trophies.
Just three points separate Zamp NASCAR Latemodel points leader Melissa Weaver and second place runner Andrew Palmer. Palmer has momentum on his side after his Saturday night sweep of two weeks ago, but Weaver has consistency and championship-winning experience on her side as the lead duo speed into Eve of Destruction 16 night.
Casey Tillman controls the Pepsi Sprintcar ranks entering Saturday night. Tillman holds an 85-point lead over second place runner Jordan Harris, who has twenty points in hand over third place Daytona Wurtz.
The Idaho CDL Training Street Stock division was blown wide open when mechanical issues sidelined championship contender Scott Groom in the division’s most recent race night. This turn of events has left brother-sister duo Taylor and Kendra Occhipinti atop the standings. Taylor leads Kendra by a full 89 points entering Saturday night’s action and looks to increase that gap with his first feature victory of the season.
The Idaho Asphalt Services Hornets and Firehouse Pub and Grill Bombers have multiple attempts to gain points on Eve of Destruction 16 Saturday. Alongside points for their racing performance, both divisions can score points for participation in any one of several of the night’s destructive activities, including the Boat Race of Destruction.
Plus, the Apex Idaho Drift Club pays their second race night visit to Concrete Jungle. Don’t miss these high-powered smoke machines as they slide and dice inches from the concrete.
General admission to a full night of competition and carnage is just $21 for adults, $19 for seniors and military members, $8 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. Saturday with destruction set to start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are selling fast! Get yours while supplies last at www.meridianspeedway.com. Can’t make it to the track? Coverage of Eve of Destruction 16 will be offered live and on demand through SpeedCast.tv. We’ll see you under the big, yellow water tower this Saturday, July 27, for Eve of Destruction 16 at your NASCAR Home Track, Meridian Speedway.
