Supermodifieds Return to Diamond Cup Lineup

Fire and fury return to Meridian Speedway this Friday and Saturday night as Supermodifieds reclaim their spot in the Bob FM Diamond Cup presented by Star Diamonds lineup. Joining the Supermodifieds for both nights of racing action are the Royal Purple Northwest Sprintcar Racing Association Winged Sprintcars and the Royal Purple Modified Series.  Friday night also features the TATES Rents Hornets.  Saturday night’s action includes the Honda Performance Development Midgets, College of Western Idaho High School Tuners, Six Shooters, Spectacular Drags and fireworks.

After a decade away from the concrete jungle, the ground-pounding roar of Supermodifieds returns to the Treasure Valley both Friday and Saturday night. Purebred for wicked speed and turn-on-a-dime agility, you won’t want to miss a second of Supermodified action as they compete for one of the twin Star Diamonds diamond rings up for grabs this weekend.

A huge field of Royal Purple Northwest Sprintcar Racing Association Winged Sprintcars speed around the quarter-mile in pursuit of their own Star Diamonds ring.

The Royal Purple Modified Series complete the triple-headliner weekend as they bring their brand of wheel-to-wheel racing to bear on the quarter-mile both Friday and Saturday night.

Friday night features the rough and tumble TATES Rents Hornets as they battle for mid-season points.

Saturday night the Honda Performance Development Midgets invade Meridian Speedway for the first time in 2017.

The College of Western Idaho High School Tuner division puts a sibling rivalry front and center as Taylor and Kendra Occhipinti duel for the mid-season points lead.

Six Shooters and Spectacular Drags round out Saturday night’s on-track festivities before fireworks light up the skies of Meridian.

Gates open at 4 p.m. both nights, with qualifying at 5 p.m. and racing at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are going fast.  Grab your advance tickets at meridianspeedway.com before they run out.  General admission to each night of the Bob FM Diamond Cup festivities is just $18 for adults, kids 7-11 get in for just $6.50, and as always kids 6 and under are free.  We’ll see you this Friday and Saturday night for Supermodified racing action under the big yellow water tower at your NASCAR Home Track, Meridian Speedway.
