| This needs a bit of work. The engine shown in back came with the car, might be salvagable, im not sure. I purchases a refurbished engine from a junkyard that had good compression. That is also included, but not pictured. That engine is fuel injected though, so to make this legal for the class you will need to purchase a carbonated intake. It does come with a tranny, im not sure of the condition of it. I'm pretty sure it at lest works though. It comes with a race seat, filled fire extinguisher, tach, roll cage and racing wheels. NO ENGINE!, the car is currently set up as a street car that can be taken to the strip it has a working speedometer as well as your normal race guages. it could easily be turned in to a full blown race car if that is your inclination. | This is the one you want...a 1963...The very first year this car was produced by Buick...it was an instant sensation and as fast as Buick could produce these cars...the Buick dealers sold them..and most were sold at full list price! This car runs great! I've owned this car for 20 years, am the third owner and I knew the other two. I've driven it for years and have intended to restore it for years but never got to it and now I realize I probably won't. It is all original with the exception of the transmission which I think was rebuilt or maybe replaced. You've got to drive this car but fair warning, if you do you'll fall in love. The Buick Riviera was not a muscle car, per se, but it had a tremendous impact on the American automotive scene. The Riviera represented one of the most successful American attempts at capturing European styling and performance in a large automobile. Positioned at the top of Buick's coupe line up, the Riviera always represented cutting edge styling and performance and deserves a place in American automotive history. The Riviera was introduced on October 4th, 1962 as a 1963 model, with a base price of $4,333, although typical delivered prices with options ran upwards of $5,000. Production was deliberately limited to 40,000 or less to increase demand. With the same power as the larger Buicks and less weight, the Riviera had sparkling all-around performance: Motor Trend magazine found it capable of running 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 8 seconds or less, the standing quarter mile in about 16 seconds, and an observed top speed of 115mph...and faster in a longer stretch of road. Known as model 4747 and only offered on the sport coupe body style, the Buick Riviera was a huge success, selling 40,000 copies.
