Fourth Annual NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 208 Goes Green Saturday
The rising stars of NASCAR descend on Meridian Speedway Saturday, September 29, for the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 208. With just two races left on the 2018 schedule after Saturday night’s 52-mile meeting, every position is crucial and each pass will be hard fought.
Derek Thorn has separated himself from Bruncati teammate Ryan Partridge with a string of strong finishes in the season’s second third. Meanwhile, Partridge has his hands full with young guns Derek Kraus and Cole Rouse. Kraus’ three wins leads all division drivers, while Rouse has made his way up the point standings with nine top-ten finishes in ten races.
The Sunoco Rookie of the Year battle is every bit as close as the title fight as single digits are all that stand between Trevor Huddleston and Hailie Deegan. How will the pair of rookie contenders fare as they take on the quarter-mile oval known as the Concrete Jungle?
One thing is for sure, if you can win the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 208, you can win anywhere. Former winners Noah Gragson and Todd Gilliland now compete for NASCAR Camping World Truck Series wins. Last year’s surprise victor Michael Self has scored two wins in the ARCA Racing Series, including the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway.
